Maryland Live! Casino Opens Job Application Website for Residents

More then 1,500 new jobs are headed to the area due to the casino at Arundel Mills.

Residents hoping to snag one of the 1,500 new jobs coming to the area from the Maryland Live! Casino can start applying online for management positions.

According to a release Tuesday from the Maryland Live! Casino, job descriptions and requirements are posted on the casino’s job website. As the complex draws closer to its opening in the summer of 2012, more jobs will be posted over the next few months.

“The launch of our online job application system marks a really exciting milestone in our development process,” said Robert J. Norton, the casino’s president and general manager, in the release. “We’re proud to be able to offer a diverse range of career opportunities to so many people in such a challenging jobs market.”

The casino will provide part-time as well as full-time positions in all departments, Norton said during a presentation to the West County Chamber of Commerce last week. Casino experience is not necessary for many of the jobs, although some manager and director positions require a background in the gaming industry, according to the release.

Some of the jobs to be listed on the site range from food and beverage to information technology.
