The three cities tagged with the ranking of most dangerous were Baltimore, Elkton, and Ocean City.

The website based its rankings by taking information from the FBI’s most recent crime report for Maryland (2012 for all of the places with populations of 5,000 or above. Then, it factored in violent crime, property crime and the chance a resident will be a victim of a crime.

1. Town of Hampstead
2. CDP of Ocean Pines
2. Town of Thurmont
2. City of Glenarden
5. City of Taneytown
6. City of Brunswick
7. City of Bowie
8. City of New Carrollton
9. City of Frostburg
10. City of District Heights
