Fort Meade Police used search dogs to search every locker in the school to ensure no other weapons were in the building.
Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure told Patch that there were no safety issues at the school. When a student found the BB gun, the youth notified a school administrator. The provost marshal has jurisdiction and decided to use a canine to search all the school lockers as a precaution.
Fort Meade officials have released no information so far.
The school is located at 1103 26th St. at Fort Meade.
