Memorial Day Events in the Odenton Area

County Memorial Day Ceremony

When: Monday, 11 a.m.
Where: Maryland Veterans Cemetary, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville

Details: The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs and the United Veterans of Anne Arundel County will host this ceremony. Retired Army Col. Kenneth O McCreedy, the former garrison commander at Fort Meade, will be the guest speaker. There will be music performances from Sgt. Maj. Michael Culbertson and retired Army Master Sgt. Jan Holland, as well as the Maryland Defense Force Band. 

Odenton Memorial Day Ceremony

When: Monday, 3 p.m.
Where: Odenton Masonic Hall, 1206 Stehlik Dr.

Details: The Meade Memorial VFW Post 5172 and Boy Scout Troop 755 will host the annual ceremony to honor American service members who died in defense of their country. All active and retired military personnel are invited to wear their uniform, while scouting units are asked to wear their uniforms. Light refreshments will be served in the Masonic lodge following the ceremony.

Odenton Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Day Parade

When: Monday, 5 p.m.
Where: Annapolis Road, near the Odenton Volunteer Fire Department. Parade participants enter at Bank of Glen Burnie.

Details: The OVFC carnival will open at 4 p.m., and then the fire department will host the annual parade along Annapolis Road.
