Millersville Man Turned Home Into 'War Zone,' Sentenced For Abuse

A Millersville man who fired a shotgun in his house during an argument turned his home into a "war zone," prosecutors say.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — A Millersville man who fired a shotgun in his house — prompting his wife and children to barricade themselves in a bedroom — turned his home into a "war zone," prosecutors say. Isaac J. Perrodin, 38, of the 600 block of 608 Paddlewheel Court, was sentenced Monday by Circuit Court Judge Laura S. Kiessling to 19 years in prison for first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence.

Perrodin was arrested on March 4 following a standoff with Anne Arundel County Police. Authorities say the trouble began when h became increasingly irate as he searched his home for the keys to his vehicle. While searching, Perrodin yelled for his wife, pointed the gun at her, and then fired a shot into the floor.

Fearing for their safety, the woman locked herself and her two children in a bedroom, prosecutors say. As Perrodin continued to roam the house, possibly still carrying the shotgun, his wife called 911. Police set up a perimeter and tried to contact Perrodin who surrendered to officers about an hour later.

Prosecutors say Perrodin pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence on Aug. 4. He was sentenced to 50 years suspend all but 19 years of active incarceration, and five years of supervised probation upon release.

"Isaac Perrodin's reckless behavior put three innocent victims in serious danger and created a war zone in their own home," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams in a statement. "This form of violence is particularly insidious, and will not be tolerated in our county."
