Odenton Drivers Involved In Crash Identified, One Critically Hurt

Two Odenton drivers collided on Annapolis Road; one was critically injured and is hospitalized at Shock Trauma Center.

ODENTON, MD — An Odenton driver who reportedly turned in front of an oncoming vehicle was critically injured in a crash about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The two-vehicle crash happened on Annapolis Road (MD-175) at Baldwin Road in Odenton.

A 2009 Chevrolet Equinox was turning left onto Annapolis Rd (MD-175) from westbound Baldwin Road when it was struck on the driver’s side door by a northbound 2015 Ford Expedition. The driver of the Chevy — Abbie S. Gordon, 19, of the 300 block of Baldwin Road in Odenton — suffered critical injuries and was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Police say the driver and passenger of the Ford were not injured. They were identified as Peggy R. Everett, 57, of the 900 block of Citrine Way in Odenton, and passenger Jarod A. Everett, 16.

The preliminary cause of the crash was Gordon's failure to yield right of way on a left turn, police say. Neither speed nor alcohol/drug use was a contributing factor.

Any charges will be filed after a review by the State’s Attorney.
