Odenton Shootout Leads To Arrest In Robbery Case: Police
While investigating a shooting between two groups in Odenton, police tracked down the suspect in a robbery that had occurred earlier.
ODENTON, MD — An exchange of gunfire in Odenton led Anne Arundel County police officers to arrest a suspect in a robbery that had occurred earlier in the day Sept. 18. The suspect also was charged with contributing to certain conditions of a child after police discovered a teenager had accompanied the 34-year-old suspect in his crime spree.
Officers responded to the report of an armed subject in the area of Commodore Drive and Langdom Farm Circle in Odenton. Two groups of people had fired weapons at each other that they believed stemmed from an altercation and theft/robbery that happened earlier.
A search warrant executed at a suspect's resident turned up evidence from the theft/robbery and a search of the woods behind his home recovered a loaded .44 Magnum pistol. Police arrested Calvin Edward Johnson of Odenton and charged him with robbery, second-degree assault, CDS possession of firearms, handgun on a person, handgun use in a felony/violent crime, contribute to certain conditions of a child and reckless endangerment. Detectives are working to identify the second suspect believed to be 16 to 18 years old, 5'5, average build with short hair.
