Odenton Teen Wins $50K in Scratch-Off
An 18-year-old from Odenton won the $50,000 top prize on a $5 Maryland Lottery game and plans to buy a car.

ODENTON, MD — A Maryland Lottery scratch-off player found a big win close to home at his lucky store — Lucky’s Superette in Odenton.
After purchasing four Pay Me! scratch-offs, the 18-year-old took the instant tickets to his car in the parking lot to play. When he got to the final spot on his fourth and final scratch-off, the Odenton resident saw something he couldn’t believe.
“I saw that I won $50,000 and let out a yell,” the grocery store worker told Maryland Lottery officials. “I drove home and locked the ticket up right away.”

The first to claim a top prize on the $5 Pay Me! Game, the lucky winner hasn’t told many people about the win other than a few family members. The occasional Lottery player already has plans for spending his big win. His days of saving for a new car are over. He told Lottery officials he is excited to have the money to purchase one.
The winner said he usually plays Lottery games at Lucky’s Superette, located at 1101 Odenton Road, because he always hears about winning tickets being sold there. Earlier this year, the store sold a $100,000 winning Gold Rush scratch-off. For selling this $50,000 Pay Me! top-prize winner, the store will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
