With legendary Penn State football coach announcing his resignation in the wake of disturbing allegations involving a former assistant, we take a look at how some Pennsylvania Patch sites have covered the reaction.

Joe Paterno is no longer the head coach of the Penn State football team, after former assistant Jerry Sandusky was charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse involving boys.

Pottstown Patch said opinion of to prevent the alleged abuse from occuring, but most found the whole episode "sad."

Andrew Kefer said Paterno had an obligation to report the alleged abuse to police when he was alerted to it.

"Coach Paterno is an icon," Kefer said. "He can basically do whatever he wants ... There was a moral obligation that was missed by him."
