Police: Large Pot Arrest After Family Member's Tip
Officers find more than $22,000 worth of weed in shed, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
A man is in custody after a family member discovered a large amount of marijuana, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Wesley Byron Wheeler, 33, of the 500 block of Wellham Ave., Glen Burnie, is charged with 1 count CDS possession Marijuana, 1 count of CDS possession with intent to distribute Narcotics, 10 counts of CDS possession Paraphernalia, 2 counts CDS possession not Marijuana and 1 count CDS packaging material possession/distribution and Marijuana packaging possession/distribution.
At 12:16 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the suspect’s home. The reporting person told police they’d discovered a large quantity of marijuana in a storage shed on the property and believed it may have been a family member’s stash. After securing a search warrant, officers found more than 2 lbs. of marijuana with a street value of more than $22,000, according to a police statement.
Packaging materials and paraphernalia recovered suggest the suspect was also involved in distributing the drugs, according to police.

After an investigation and search, Wheeler was determined to be the suspect and located at an Extended Stay in Glen Burnie. He was arrested without incident.
