Police Respond to Fight at Arundel High
School officials requested backup after intervening in a fight involving at least three girls in the cafeteria.

Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to Arundel High School Monday morning after at least three girls got into a fight in the school cafeteria.
A school resource officer was on scene when the fight broke out, and school officials called for assistance at about 11:20 a.m., police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said.

Anne Arundel County Schools spokesman Bob Mosier said the incident during the second lunch period involved as many as five girls, and that the administation called police due to the number of people in the cafeteria and school hallways at the time.
Three girls received juvenile citations for assault and disorderly conduct, Mulcahy said.

As many as five officers arrived on the scene after the call, but the school resource officer had the situation under control by the time they arrived, Mosier and Mulcahy said.
Mosier said the school system is investigating the incident and what disciplinary actions the students will face.
