Police Shoot Suspect Carrying Gun Inside Crofton House
Anne Arundel County Police have not identified the man they were called to check on, or the officer who shot him.

Anne Arundel County Police have not yet released the names of a Crofton man who reportedly pointed a gun at officers, or the identity of the officer who shot the suspect.
Officers were asked Saturday afternoon to check on a 21-year-old man in the 1700 block of Chamberlain Court in Crofton. The resident had reportedly sent text messages that he was considering harming himself or others in his family. Police were also told another person was in the house whose safety could be at-risk from the suspect.

One of the officers used his pocketknife to cut the suspect’s shirt off and accidentally cut his arm in the process. That officer was treated at the hospital and later released.

Charges have not been filed at this time; police say the suspect will be identified if charges are filed.
Officers have been to this residence before, however details of why they were called to the house in the past have not been released.
Officers who were involved in the incident have been placed on routine paid administrative leave.
No other officers were seriously injured. The other occupant of the home, a relative of the suspect, was not injured and was not being held against their will.
