The Pope’s comment about the Big Bang theory and evolution is very powerful. There are two sides I know of to view the Bible. The inerrantist view and the infallible view. The church condemned Galileo for heresy. This comment from the pope shows how far we’ve come from people of knowledge killing each other. I pray to God for the church to demonstrate to the world reconciliation for the actions against Joan of Arc. Oh that spiritual separation would no longer manifest itself in the statements in regards to God using a wand. You can view the Bible to be 100% historical fact, or to be a simple insight into history, but within these two Christian views we need to be sensitive in our public addresses to one another.
