Updated: Sears Hiring in Odenton

If you are driving just north of Odenton, it's hard to miss a series of new signs advertising that Sears is now hiring.

My initial reaction was to wonder if Sears was opening a new store in town, but a small amount of research revealed that the jobs will be in the Sears repair center on Crossroads Drive, just off of Telegraph Road near the police station.

I called the number on the sign and was directed to Cheryl Morris. She said the openings are for technicians in their lawn and garden repair center in Odenton.

Morris said people with experience in repairing lawn mowers, in particular, are encouraged to go to Searsholdings.com/careers, and search for postings under "Line Technician" or "Service Technician I."
