Severn Man Charged In Ocean City Human-Trafficking Sting

Ocean City authorities say a Severn man was one of a dozen suspects arrested in a human-trafficking operation last week.

SEVERN, MD – A Severn man was one of a dozen suspects charged with prostitution or other crimes in a human-trafficking sweep in Ocean City. According to a news release, the crackdown in the resort town included officers with the Ocean City Police Department, the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team, the Maryland State Police, and Homeland Security Investigations.

During the course of the operation, conducted Sept. 14-16, detectives arrested James H. Rasnake, 56, of Severn. He was charged with prostitution and released on personal recognizance.

Authorities have not said where the arrests were made, what led investigators to the suspects, or if victims were freed during the arrests.
