A Severn man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a toddler left in his care and producing child pornography.

Police received a report March 21 that a child left in the care of Darrius Eric Carr, 22, was sexually abused over the course of several days, Patch earlier reported. Carr had no fixed address, and was arrested April 8 in Harford County.

Carr was initially charged with sex abuse of a minor, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, second-degree assault, and production and possession of child pornography.

Carr entered his plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. The Capital-Gazette reports he faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 26.

According to court records, Carr moved in with a family in March to care for the couple’s young children. The newspaper says that on two occasions while the parents were at work and Carr was alone with the children, he produced photos and two videos of himself engaging in sexually explicit conduct with the couple’s young daughter.
