Severn Traffic Stop Yields Gun Arrest
Anne Arundel County Police say the suspect ran from officers after they learned he had a suspended driver's license.

A traffic stop in Severn led to a short foot chase and the seizure of a loaded pistol from the vehicle, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Officers stopped a vehicle Friday evening in the area of Arwell Court and Pioneer Drive in Severn. The driver immediately ran from the vehicle, police say, but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
A computer search showed that the driver -- James Darnell Lindsey, 40, of 9400 Acorn Park St. in Capitol Heights -- had a suspended license.

While searching the vehicle, detectives reportedly located a loaded, two-shot Derringer pistol in the center console.
Lindsey was arrested and charged with multiple handgun offenses.
