Severn Woman Claims To Have Coronavirus, Assaults Another: Police
Police say Jackie Lynn Bartel, 47, of Severn assaulted a woman at a housing complex office, said she had coronavirus and fled the scene.
LAUREL, MD — A woman claiming to have the new coronavirus grabbed the arm of a housing complex office staff member and said the victim now had it. The suspect, 47-year-old Jackie Lynn Bartel of Severn, had gone into the office and confronted the office state member because her car had been towed. She demanded she be reimbursed for the cost of the tow.
When the office staff member told her she would not be reimbursed, Bartel then grabbed her arm. After the assault, Bartel fled. Anne Arundel County police officers eventually identified Bartel as the suspect in the April 1 incident. Bartel has been charged with second-degree assault, exposure by an infected individual, health emergency failure to company, state of emergency - MEMA violation and state of emergency - MEMA willful violation.
