Severn Woman Wins $50K With Scratch-Off Game

SEVERN, MD — A trip to the grocery store turned into a $50,000 scratch-off win for a 40-year-old Severn woman and her husband. After finishing their purchase at the Shoppers store on Quarterfield Road in Severn, the couple decided to try their luck with one Ravens X10 scratch-off.

“We checked the ticket while we were still at the store,” the mother of one daughter told Maryland Lottery officials, according to a news release. “I couldn’t believe it. I finally believed it after I scanned it on my phone.”

The couple only occasionally play scratch-offs, so this win on the $5 game came as a big surprise.

“I had just recently told someone that I didn’t believe anyone really won the Lottery,” said the husband, who is a fan of Multi-Match. “Now, I know that it really can happen to you.”

The pair, who have only told one other person about their luck, plan to save most of their winnings, according to a press release.

The Ravens X10 game has two $100,000 top prizes and two $50,000 prizes remaining. In addition to this $5 instant ticket, Lottery players can try their luck on the $2 Ravens X5 game, which currently has five $20,000 prizes remaining.

In addition, fans can enter non-winning Ravens X10 and Ravens X5 tickets into the second-chance promotion for the change to win Season Tickets for 20 Years, Season Tickets for 2019 or $10,000 cash.
