Six Men Robbed Behind Piney Orchard Shopping Center​

Six people were robbed Tuesday night at gunpoint in a park behind the Piney Orchard Shopping Center​ in Odenton, police say.

Odenton, MD — Six people were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night in a park behind Piney Orchard Shopping Center at 8761 Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton, police said.

The victims — six males in their late teens to early 20s — told Anne Arundel County Police that two men approached them about 11 p.m. After the pair asked for a lighter and cigarettes, which the victims said they didn't have, the suspects took out two semi-automatic handguns and ordered the victims to empty their pockets.

The thieves grabbed two cell phones and an undetermined amount of cash from the victims, who then ran from the scene.

Several officers, K-9 and a police helicopter searched the area for the robbers without success.

Police describe the suspects as black men between 18 and 20 years old, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11, weighing between 180 and 215 pounds, with a thin build, and wearing dark clothing.
