Suspect Charged in Church Street Assault, Attempted Robbery

Baltimore resident arrested after reportedly grabbing a purse and pulling victim across the street.

Anne Arundel County Police have arrested 26 year-old Carl Shadee McLamb of 856 Bevan St. in Baltimore for an attempted theft and assault.

The victim, a 36-year-old woman from Brooklyn Park, told police she noticed McLamb following her at 11:07 a.m. Monday on Church Street in Brooklyn Park. The woman turned around just as McLamb reportedly grabbed her purse, which the woman would not release her grip on. She was pulled across Church Street, after which the suspect gave up and fled the scene on foot.

Anne Arundel County Police searched the area and detained an individual matching the suspect’s physical description, whom the victim positively identified as her attacker.

McLamb was charged with attempted robbery, attempted theft, assault, and reckless endangerment.
