Teen Identified, Remains In Critical Condition After Hit-And-Run
Police are searching for the driver who hit a Brooklyn Park girl after a house party in Severn, she was critically injured.

SEVERN, MD — Anne Arundel County Police are searching for the driver who hit a Brooklyn Park teenager after a house party in Severn. On Tuesday, police said the victim is Kiersten Emily Wengert-Walko, 17, of the 6000 block of Ritchie Highway, who remains in critical condition at a Baltimore trauma center.
Wengert-Walko was hurt in the accident, which happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 7900 block of WB&A Road near Thompson Road. Witnesses told police that Wengert-Walko had left a house party in the 7800 block of WB&A Road and was walking southbound in the northbound lane with a group of people. Other guests from the same house party are believed to have been in the suspect vehicle, which was reportedly northbound at a high rate of speed when it struck the victim, who was unable to move out of the way in time.
Wengert-Walko was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical, life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the driver and vehicle did not remain at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Police say the only description of the hit-and-run vehicle is that it is silver and has a broken headlight assembly (clear portion) and windshield damage. The vehicle likely also has tinted windows.
