Teen Charged in Carjacking on Fort Meade Grounds

The victim was a teenager who was stopped at gunpoint near Meade Senior High School and drove the suspect to Orchard Food Mart.

A teenager accused of abducting and carjacking another teen at gunpoint on Fort Meade property has been charged as an adult.

Anne Arundel County Police say Demonta Jerome Walker, 17, of 1130 Wynbrook Road in Glen Burnie turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, told police he was driving on F Street at Fort Meade near the Meade Senior High School Friday afternoon. He says Walker jumped out in front of his car and pointed a handgun at him and his dog, a miniature schnauzer.

Walker then got into the vehicle and made the victim drive about two miles to the Orchard Food Mart on Reece Road. At that location, Walker left the victim’s vehicle and walked away. The victim was not injured during this incident.

Investigators say Walker Meade Senior High School had entered the school around noon to see his girlfriend, but was quickly removed from the school. After he left the school police say the carjacking happened.

Walker’s mother reported him as a missing person on Friday.

The arrest warrant charges Walker as an adult with carjacking, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, kidnapping, handgun in a vehicle, handgun on a person, firearm use in a felony violent crime, animal cruelty, trespass on school property, and dangerous weapon on school property.
