Three Projects Up for Review by Town Center Committee

Tuesday night’s meeting of the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee is shaping up to be one of the most interesting in a while.

There are three new items on , featuring developers looking to update the committee on the progress of their projects.

First, Jonathan Halle of the Halle Companies will present his plans for a new branch of Columbia Bank, to be placed in the Seven Oaks shopping center near Blue Water Boulevard and Route 175.

Then an architect for Bonaventure Realty will present a site plan and designs for “The Aura at Town Center,” a new apartment complex to be constructed on Route 175 across from the Odenton Volunteer Fire Co.

The company is expected to request a modification from guidelines in the town center plan. The committee will vote on the request. (The "Aura" project was formerly known as

The third item on the agenda will feature members of the Odenton Heritage Society and representatives of the Hogan Companies, who have been involved in

The Hogan Companies has been invited to give an update on its ideas and intentions for the site, while the Heritage Society has expressed concern over how the project will fit in with the requirements for Odenton’s Historic District.

Earlier in November, to familiarize itself with the Historic District and its role in guiding development in Odenton.

The town center committee is comprised of local residents appointed by County Executive John R. Leopold. It is charged with reviewing projects planned for the Odenton Town Center, but serves only as an advisory board to the county’s Office of Planning and Zoning.

Tuesday’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Western District Police Station, 8273 Telegraph Road, Odenton.
