- Police said it all started when they tried to pull over a man for a routine traffic violation Tuesday. They said Deandre Davis drove off, nearly ran over a police officer and then eventually crashed his car near Chapel Gate Drive and Waugh Chapel Road. A 54-year-old man was injured in the collision.

- The long saga of trying to get a new councilman for District 1 came to an end Monday when chairman Dick Ladd changed his vote in favor of Smith will be sworn in this week.

- Patch caught up with Jamie and Amy Britt of Odenton, who plan to bike 300 miles over five days to bring awareness about climate change. They hope to raise nearly $5,000 for various environmental causes.

- The Anne Arundel County Board of Education on Wednesday heard some emotional testimony from students urging the return of Andrew Cizek, a popular psychology and government teacher. He following some interactions with a student on a social media site.

- The apartments at the Village at Odenton Station are almost done being built, and the developer is accepting pre-leases now. Eager residents could move in as soon as May into the complex just to the west of the MARC station.
