Town Center Committee to Visit Historical Center Tonight

The Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee will meet with members of the Odenton Heritage Society to learn more about the town's historic district and its role in guiding development.

The following is a letter from Donald Price, chairman of the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee.

The Odenton Town Center Oversight Committee is pursuing a community outreach effort this evening by visiting the at 1367 Odenton Road at 6:30 p.m.  The committee's intent in visiting the center is to gather additional information and background regarding the significance of the historic district for the committee's use in evaluation of development proposals in the historic district area.   

During the visit, the committee is scheduled to receive a presentation and engage in discussions with the Odenton Historic Society (OHS) on issues regarding the history of Odenton; the significance of the Historic District's inclusion in the Odenton Town Center Master Plan, and the OHS's perspective, thoughts, and concepts on preservation of the historic district.

Since the , identified as being within the historic district, is scheduled as a topic for the Odenton Town Center Oversight Committee meeting on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m., at the Anne Arundel County Western District Police Station with both the Hogan Development Corp. and the OHS invited to present, the committee will not focus any discussions on this project proposal during the visit to the Odenton Historic Center.  

Presentations and discussions during the Committee's meeting on the 29th will provide all Odenton citizens an opportunity to understand the different prespectives on the proposal and provide input to the committee.
