Traffic Headache: Telegraph Road and Reece/Donaldson
With new development happening in the area, how much more can that busy intersection take?
We noted last week that there is new development planned near the intersection of Telegraph Road, Reece Road and Donaldson Avenue.
There's a , plus across from Severn-Danza Park.
This is already a very busy intersection, as traffic queues up heavily during rush hour in nearly all directions. in , and it can get especially hairy if trucks from the Severn Fire Department have to get out.

The most challenging thing about this area is getting in—and especially out of—the shopping Exxon Station, the CVS and the McDonald's. It is often easier to exit out the opposite way that you want to go, simply because traffic is too heavy to allow a driver to cross over to the opposite lane of Telegraph, Reece or Donaldson Roads.
The new Royal Farms will presumably add an even greater headache, due to the addition of gas pumps. (Have you seen the chaos that is the WaWa on Annapolis Road and Maryland Route 3?)

Once the Royal Farms is complete, I'd like to find out:
- Will it be possible to make a left out of the Royal Farms and south onto Telegraph Road? What about from the CVS?
- Will motorists be able to exit Royal Farms onto Donaldson Avenue and get over to the left lane in order to make a left onto Telegraph Road?
- Will it become even harder to make a left out of McDonald's onto Reece Road heading east?
- If I stop into the shopping plaza for a donut at Carlson's or po' boy from the New Orleans Kitchen, will I be able to make a left onto Telegraph Road heading north?
