Traffic Safety, North Patuxent on Town Center Agenda

Tuesday's meeting of the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee will feature a discussion of safety concerns near new development on Sappington Station Road.

The next meeting of the will feature a new presentation from a developer looking to build along North Patuxent Road and a discussion of traffic concerns in east Odenton.

A draft agenda of Tuesday's meeting shows a total of four issues up for discussion.

They include:

  • A review of . The committee will hear from county planner Mike Fox to get a clarification on whether the overlay and the Odenton Town Center Master Plan are in conflict.
  • A presentation from Stever Horne of Elm Street Development on new plans for development on North Patuxent Road. Hogan for a site just east of the MARC station, but indicated last month that of the proposal.
  • Discussion by the committee to clarify on what aspects of the North Patuxent plan have already been approved.
  • A discussion led by Jay Winer, president of AJ Properties, about safety concerns at Annapolis and Sappington Station Roads. Winer said he would also like to talk about whether the state or county have budgeted for road improvements in that area.

The will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at the Western District police station, 8273 Telegraph Rd., Odenton. According to the agenda, the committee hopes to adjourn by 8:15 p.m.
