Trooper Among 3 Hurt in West County Car Crash

Police say a chain-reaction accident sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries.

A chain-reaction accident in West County sent three people to the hospital Sunday, including a Maryland State Police trooper, reports the Capital-Gazette.

Authorities say the accident about 4 p.m. on the Baltimore Washington Parkway near Route 32. The trooper was sitting in traffic when a Mercedes reportedly rear-ended a Honda, which in turn struck the trooper’s vehicle.

The trooper was flown by helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was treated for his injuries and released the same day, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Cliff Kooser told the Capital-Gazette.
