Two Piney Orchard Pools Open Memorial Day Weekend

Management in Piney Orchard announced this week that the Community Center and Island pools will open this Saturday, but that the Rotary Pool could open a bit later.

The Rotary Pool will be delayed slighty due to the finalization of some maintenance work and completion of county inspections.

The Community Center and Island pools will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Community Center outdoor pool , but that date has been moved up after the completion of renovations.

Meanwhile, Piney Orchard's Board of Directors said it approved a contract for the replacement of the HVAC and roof at the community center. Internal work on the HVAC system will begin this summer, but outdoor work will not begin until the pool has closed at the end of the summer. Officials said all work would be completed by mid-October.

The board also approved a contract for the restoration of the pond area near the community center, with work scheduled to be done this summer.
