The first thing is to be aware of what is going on in your state. Maryland does not have a law against therapists having sexual relations with their clients. They don't have a law saying it is wrong for them to have sex with their clients. It is unethical for them to have any kind of sexual relations with their client but it is not illegal.
Why is this you ask? Well, because Maryland would rather protect the therapist then the client/victim. They would rather protect a business then a victim. They would rather the board gain money then protect the victim. This is what they are saying. They want more studies, when there has been studies after studies done. They killed their task force and didn't accept the recommendations from them.
Why is Maryland so bent on not making this law? Rape is rape and a therapist having sex with their client is by means the worse kind of rape as they gain your trust and control. Once, they have you in their web, then they take advantage of you. Why does Maryland think this is ok?
