Death of Severn Woman a Homicide; Baby Found Uninjured (Update)

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating the death of a woman Tuesday morning in Severn. A child in the house was not hurt.

UPDATED at 6 p.m.

The death of a woman found in her Severn home has been classified a homicide, say police, who note that she suffered upper body trauma, while a young child found in the residence was unharmed.

Anne Arundel County Police were called to 8000 block of Millstone Court in Severn about 8 a.m. Tuesday after a neighbor on a walk followed a stray dog to an open door at the residence. He went to the residence to call for the neighbor, and had no response, which he thought suspicious.

The neighbor then called police, who found the woman’s body once officers entered the residence, said Lt. Ryan Frashure. Officers found a baby inside the home who was unharmed. The child was taken to an area hospital for a checkup.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of death.
