Woman's Son Stabs Her Boyfriend, Flees: Police

A Gambrills man is charged with assault for allegedly stabbing his mother's boyfriend and then fleeing; he was caught in Laurel, police say.

An argument between a Gambrills woman’s adult son and her boyfriend escalated to a stabbing and landed both men in area hospitals, authorities say.

The victim was visiting his girlfriend on Misthaven Lane in Gambrills Wednesday when a confrontation occurred between the woman’s 19-year-old son and the victim outside the residence. Chauncy Bayarculus Johnson Jr., 19, of Gambrills allegedly stabbed his mother’s boyfriend several times with a kitchen knife and then fled the scene in his mother’s vehicle, say Anne Arundel County Police.

The victim was taken by the Fire Department to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, officers apprehended Johnson on Russett Green Drive in Laurel. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The victim is still at Maryland Shock Trauma and is listed in stable condition.

Johnson is being guarded at a local hospital and will be charged with first-degree assault and other related charges.
