2-Alarm House Fire Near Owings Mills Took Hours To Control

Firefighters battled a blaze on Liberty Road near Owings Mills Thursday afternoon, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Crews battled a two-alarm house fire near Owings Mills for several hours Thursday afternoon on Liberty Road. The Baltimore County Fire Department reported that everyone was out of the house, and the blaze was placed under control by 3:25 p.m.

Liberty Road was closed between Lyons Mill Road and Chapeldale Road until after 4 p.m., authorities said.

Firefighters were initially dispatched to the home in the 10500 block of Liberty Road at 12:32 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, according to authorities.

After assessing the situation, fire officials called for backup at the scene.

The Sykesville Fire Department reported that its tower truck and crew had been called to assist with the fire in Baltimore County.

Firefighters were checking to ensure there were no hot spots before 3:30 p.m. and working to clean up after the operation, according to Baltimore County fire officials, who provided these photos:

By 4:10 p.m., officials said they were clearing the scene.
