(UPDATED) Police Charge Juvenile for Adopt-A-Pet Center Burglary

A juvenile charged with five residential burglaries was also charged with burglarizing the Reisterstown Adopt-A-Pet Center.

(UPDATE, 3/29, 10:50 a.m.)--A 17-year-old Reisterstown resident was charged with second-degree burglary Saturday for the incident at Adopt-A-Pet Center on Main Street Thursday, when it was broken into and had money, its cash register and store camera's hard drive stolen, police said.

The juvenile has also been charged in .

The Association for Animal Rights' Adopt-A-Pet Center is seeking donations, according to a Facebook event posted Friday. The cash register and camera hard drive were recovered.

The suspect broke into the store Thursday through its air conditioner system. The two-story, converted residential storefront along Main Street is now seeking donations to replace the register, hard drive and safe and to purchase a security system,  according to the post.

"This is going to be a HUGE dent in our tight budget!" the post states. "Please, if you could spare a contribution to go towards this expense it... would be so greatly appreciated!"
