Police Investigation Put Franklin Middle School On Alert
Police said that investigators were looking into the report of an armed person in the area of Franklin Middle School, triggering an alert.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — Due to a call about a person with a gun in a neighborhood near Franklin Middle School Wednesday, police said the school was placed on "alert status." When a school is on alert status, that means nobody may enter or leave the building without permission from the principal or office head, usually in consultation with the Baltimore County Police Department.
An alert status is typically triggered by an event in the community that involves an investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department.
Franklin Middle School was on alert status while investigators looked into the call about someone armed with a gun in a neighborhood that was nearby the school, police said. The alert at the school on Cockeys Mill Road had been lifted by 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, officials reported.
