Today's riddle: Why was the scarecrow given an award? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 22-year-old man dies after Owings Mills crash, police say (baltimoresun.com) — A 22-year-old man has died after a Friday night crash at Red Run Boulevard and Meadows Road in Owings Mills, and Baltimore County Police are still investigating what happened. The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger from the victim's car were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not yet released additional details about the cause of the collision.
2. Woman, Dog Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Maryland I-795 (clayconews.com) — A woman from Westminster and her dog were killed Wednesday night while trying to cross southbound I-795 near Mt. Wilson Lane in Owings Mills after her car ran out of gas on the shoulder. Maryland State Police say a Hyundai Sonata struck them, closing the interstate for about three hours while troopers, state highway crews, and Baltimore County police investigated. The crash team's investigation is still ongoing.
3. Baltimore County sheriff candidate Michael Burke grilled over past work claims (foxbaltimore.com) — Owings Mills hosted a recent forum where Baltimore County sheriff candidate Michael Burke described his law enforcement background, which is now being questioned by a retired detective and county officials. Records don't show him as a Baltimore County Police officer, and an ID number he cited reportedly belongs to someone else. Burke maintains he served as an unpaid auxiliary officer and says his comments were misunderstood.
4. Luke Jones and Nestor discuss Ravens center of concern and Ioane against Titans (baltimorepositive.com) — Ravens beat reporters say they'll be out in Owings Mills all week as they dissect the team's battered offensive line and the emergency move of rookie Venga Yoane to center. With three centers already lost to long-term injuries, they worry about protection for Lamar Jackson, a shaky right guard spot, and how to contain Titans star Jeffrey Simmons. They also stress the need to reestablish a real home-field advantage in Baltimore this Sunday.
