Attempted Murder Charge Filed In Randallstown Domestic Dispute

A Howard County man is charged with attempted murder after police said he shot and injured his girlfriend's estranged husband.

RANDALLSTOWN, MD — An Elkridge man has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses related to a shooting in Randallstown in mid-July. Investigators allege the gunman shot the husband of his girlfriend. The victim and his wife are separated, according to authorities.

Police said a domestic fight with shots fired was reported around 9:30 a.m. on July 13 in the 8500 block of Glen Michael Lane.

When officers arrived, both the victim and the suspect were gone, police said. The man who had been shot went to the hospital, and the suspect left the scene, according to authorities.

Investigators determined the victim had gotten into an argument with his wife, her boyfriend and her family, and the dispute ended with the boyfriend shooting the husband in the lower body.

Taivon Walker, 24, of the 6700 block of Iron Ore, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, using a firearm to commit a crime of violence and having a handgun in a vehicle. He was arrested July 16 and released on his own recognizance following a bail review July 17.

A preliminary hearing in the case is slated for Sept. 11 in Baltimore County District Court.
