Attempted Murder Charge Results From Owings Mills Shooting
The man accused of chasing his girlfriend with a gun out of Hair Cuttery in Owings Mills Sunday is charged with attempted murder: police.
OWINGS MILLS, MD — A man has been charged with attempted murder in a shooting Sunday at Hair Cuttery in Owings Mills. The man's girlfriend was inside the salon when their verbal argument escalated and he went out to his vehicle and got a handgun, police said.
Steven Scott, 36, returned to the Hair Cuttery in the 10000 block of Reisterstown Road with the gun, pointed it at an employee, then chased his girlfriend, who went out the back door, where he fired several rounds in her direction Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.
Scott, of the 6000 block of Framingham Road in Baltimore, was charged with attempted first and second-degree murder; two counts of first and second-degree assault; two counts of reckless endangerment; possession of a handgun in a vehicle; possession of a handgun on a person; using a firearm in the commission of a felony; and malicious destruction of property greater than $1,000.

As of Monday afternoon, Scott was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. He was slated to appear for a preliminary hearing in Baltimore County District Court on Nov. 22.
