Baltimore County Primary 2018 Election Results
Primary election results for Baltimore County are here.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The results are still coming in from the Baltimore County primary election. In the race for the county executive, the GOP winner was clear Tuesday night, while the Democratic nomination is still up for grabs.
Three of the four candidates running for the Democratic nomination for county executive came within hundreds of votes of one another, and the race was too close to call Wednesday.
In fact, it may not be clear who won the race until after the Fourth of July, with absentee and provisional ballots being counted.

Redmer Claims GOP Nomination
Before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Al Redmer claimed the Republican nomination, edging out Delegate Pat McDonough. In his victory speech, Redmer thanked McDonough for his service and representation. Redmer, appointed Maryland Insurance Commissioner by Gov. Larry Hogan in 2015, said that building a campaign was like starting a business from scratch and an experience he found humbling.
"As your nominee...my promise to you is we will run the most energetic, organized and competitive Republican campaign in a generation," Redmer said. "We're gonna reach across the aisle to the many — and I mean many — like-minded Democrats and independents...looking for the needed change in how our county is governed...Together in an open, transparent and collaborative way, we will change Baltimore County for the better."
Primary Election Day Issues
During primary elections at the polls, there was one issue in Baltimore County. The Essex Co-Op had a power outage, so officials moved voting to another location about 1.2 miles away at Eastern Technical High School.
That was nothing compared with Baltimore City, where a mice and flea infestation required a polling place to be relocated. Plus, three Baltimore polling sites stayed open an hour later than all other polls in the state due to an access issue that resulted in a late start.
