Pet Owners, Pets To Make Commitment Vows on Valentine's Day
Pet owners are invited to bring their pets for Valentine's Day photos, caricatures, and forever friendship vows at Baltimore Humane Society.

Baltimore pet owners will take vows of commitment this Valentine’s Day when they participate in a Forever Friendship Ceremony at the BowWow Meow Chapel of Love on the campus of Baltimore Humane Society.
Pet owners are invited to bring their pets and demonstrate their commitment to their furry friends by taking a vow of forever friendship. Each “couple” will participate in a fully officiated individual friendship ceremony on this traditional day of love.
Officiant, Missy Kibelbek, will perform a personal ceremony every fifteen minutes. Vow takers will sign and receive a Forever Friendship certificate and a 4”x6” Valentine photo by John MiIleker Photography that they can take home after the ceremony. There is a $15 fee to participate with proceeds going to the care of the homeless animals at Baltimore Humane Society’s no-kill shelter. Pet-only ceremonies (without the owners) will also be held for furry friends who are best buds.

“We don’t think pet owners could possibly have more fun on this traditional day of love while showing their commitment to their furry friends,” says Wendy Goldband, Baltimore Humane Society Director or Marketing & Public Relations. “And what makes it even more special is that they’re also helping animals who have not been as fortunate.”
For those who prefer to skip the ceremony, pets and their families are also invited to come solely for a Valentine photo by John Milleker Photography or a caricature drawing by Dylan Rinker.
Goldband adds, “We did the ceremonies last year and it was touching to hear the participants’ vows and see their great love for their pets. It was also a great learning experience for the children who participated, emphasizing that a pet is a real living being that requires a life-long commitment.”
