Come dance the night away with us at Temple Emanuel in Reisterstown! A 1-hour dance lesson with professionals Lee and Christine Gedansky is only $5, followed by over 2 hours of great jazz and other music for your listening and dancing pleasure for $15. Come for one or both events, starting at 7 p.m.!

Learn from the Best, then Dance with the Rest

Lee and Christine Gedansky have been training and dancing for over 20 years. They began studying dance in 1991, in preparation for their wedding and have been dancing ever since. In 1998, they left Arthur Murray studios to study and practice independently. In addition to continuing their private instruction, have traveled to New York, Los Angeles, DC, and even New Orleans, to study and practice their dancing. In the summer of 2002, armed with 11 years of training and experience, and the idea of bringing social, ballroom, dancing to people through community based dance programs and special events, they opened their own company, and Beginning Ballroom, was born. The Reisterstown Jazz Ensemble (RJE) is a non-profit organization based in Baltimore County. It is a 20 piece jazz band that performs traditional standards, modern jazz big band charts and jazz vocals. RJE boasts a diverse repertoire of over 600 tunes in the styles of swing, Latin, funk, and pop. The Reisterstown Jazz Ensemble has been in existence since 1992.

Scott Cater is the band’s director and founding member of the band. The band consists of 14 horns, including saxophones, trombones, and trumpets, a full rhythm section of piano, guitar, drums and bass and a singer. RJE includes among its members several retired or current music teachers, an accountant, contractors, a lawyer, a college administrator, and business owners.
