Bonnie Heneson receives 2014 Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award

MBE Award recognizes outstanding women and minority business owners

Bonnie K. Heneson, president of Bonnie Heneson Communications, received a Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award for the second time. Bonnie Heneson Communications, a full-service marketing communications firm, is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE).

The MBE Award recognizes outstanding women and minority business owners in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Award selection was based on achievement in four areas: entrepreneurship, client satisfaction, professional contributions and community contributions.

Heneson founded Bonnie Heneson Communications in 1990. She serves on the board of the Girls Scouts of Central Maryland and co-chairs Network 2000’s public relations committee. Heneson is the past board president of The Children’s Guild and Reisterstown–Owings Mills–Glyndon Chamber of Commerce.

Among her distinctions, Heneson is a three-time recipient of The Daily Record’s Top 100 Women Award. She also received SmartCEO’s Brava! Award and The Center Club’s Trailblazer Award in 2012. Heneson graduated from Goucher College in Towson and lives in Pikesville, Md.

The MBE Award ceremony took place Oct. 23 at the War Memorial Building in downtown Baltimore during Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s Minority Enterprise Development Week.
