A Play and an Art Auction at Owings Mills High

Next week at OMHS, students will perform "A Raisin in the Sun" on Tuesday night and hold the annual "Art Auction" on Wednesday night.

Next week will be filled with arts events at Owings Mills High!

On Tuesday, May 14th at 7:15 pm, students in Chris Lambert's American Government class will perform "A Raisin in the Sun," written by playwright Lorraine Hansberry.ย  This effort is part of a project in which Lambert's government class explored housing discrimination and the government's role in eradicating it.ย  Sixteen students representing all grade levels make up the cast of the play, which includes conflict, tragedy, and humor.ย  Admission is free, and the play runs slightly over 2 hours.

The following evening, Wednesday, May 15th, the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) will hold its annualย Art Auction.ย  Artwork from talented students and art educators will be featured, and a $25 ticket guarantees that you will leave with a piece of artwork.ย  The Art Auction will begin around 6:00, directly after theย NAHS Induction Ceremonyย at 5:00 pm.ย ย
