Animal Lovers: DogFest is Saturday in Reisterstown
DogFest is THE animal lovers event of the year and the largest fundraising event for Baltimore Humane Society.
Mark your calendar and be sure to attend Baltimore Humane Societyโs DogFest on Saturday, Oct. 6, with the entire family!ย DogFest, a dog day extravaganza for pet lovers and pet owners is the eventโs fifth year celebrating the love of dogs and benefiting animals in need of care and refuge at the 365 acre no-kill shelter.ย ย
Between 5,000 and 10,000 people are expected to gather on the grounds of Baltimore Humane Society in Reisterstown to participate in games, contests, demonstrations, and kid activities.ย What makes this event so unusual, though, is that these activities are not just for the families who attend.ย Theyโre also for the dogs!ย
This is the opportunity for pet lovers to watch Rover knock down 10 pins in a game of bowling!ย Enjoy the antics of dogs trying to find their owners in a game of Hide โn Seek or playing Musical Sit โn Stay.ย Dog owners can have their pet tested for the AKC Canine Good Citizenship Award or get some information at the Ask the Vet and Ask the Trainer Booths.ย

Don't forget the kids! They'll have a blast in our Play 'n Learn area jumping on the moonbounce, making some adorable crafts, getting amazing FREE face paint by Fantasy Faces, and watching or participating in animal scenes from Shakespeare performed by The Shakespeare Factory.
The whole family will get some hearty chuckles as every type dog imaginable parades by you decked out in their best costume regalia.ย Stroll around the 365 acre wildlife preserve and explore the various vendors and information booths, even a chair massage.ย And of course, come inside the kennels and meet the many dogs and cats who are staying at the Baltimore Humane Societyโs no-kill shelter while waiting to find their forever homes.ย
