How does the firing of Cam Cameron relate to Politics?

How does the firing of Cam Cameron relate to politics? He got his walking papers for failing to deliver. Shouldn't our public officials be fired for failing to govern?

I am a fan of the Baltimore Ravens, and yesterday we watched them lose to the Washington Redskins. Somebodyโ€™s going to win and somebodyโ€™s going to lose, that is a given, but it is howย they lost.

The Redskins were down by eight points and RG3, their sensational rookie quaterback, was down with an injury and they brought in the second string quarterback, who managed to connect for a touchdown and run in a two point conversion. With 30 seconds left in the game and a timeout in their pocket why didn't the Ravens at least try for a field goal?

You could fault our defense for not being able to stop the run, but you also have to take a hard look at our offense and the Ravens' failure to deliver in the red zone this season,ย and when you look that way you will see Cam Cameron.

Monday morning he was released and Jim Caldwell will be calling the plays. Cameron held the job for five years. So you ask, how does it relate to politics?

This is a case of an employer's expectations not being met and an increasingly disgruntled fan base. Sure, Cameron tried and the Ravens allowed him to keep the job for five years, but when it became obvious this was not going to work, the team let him go.

This is how we need to look at our elected officials. Winning elections should not just be based onย a politician's ย ability to run a good campaign it should demonstrate thatย heย actually has the ability to govern, and if after two years (House) or six years (Senate) they demonstrate they don't, then we, the people, should give politicians their walking papers and not reward them with another term.

Maybe we could all learn something from the NFL.
