Love Is In the Air at Baltimore Humane Society
Baltimore Humane Society is holding it 2nd Annual Valentine's Day Pet Wedding. Public is invited.
February, the month of love, has spread to Baltimore Humane Society.ย The no-kill shelter will be holding its second annual Valentine's Day pet wedding on Thursday, Februrary 14th.ย Wedding nuptials will be between Tippy and Fuschia, two adoptable shelter dogs, and King Julian and Elena, two adoptable shelter cats. The shelter can sometimes be a difficult place caring for so many wonderful animals without homes.ย That's why we decided to hold the pet wedding.ย It's an excuse to celebrate the expression of hope, caring, and friendship. We honor the lives of animals who have lost the love and support of their families, but who tirelessly search for it again.
The ceremony begins at 2pm in our Administration Building on the shelter grounds at 1601 Nicodemus Road in Reisterstown.ย Attendees are welcome to bring gifts.ย You can take a look at the registry here - http://www.bmorehumane.org/events/valentines-day-pet-wedding.ย
Another great gift idea for both the shelter and for the sweetheart in your life who is an animal lover is a pet sponsorship.ย Tired of giving the same old box of chocolates and flowers to your Valentine? If he or she is an animal lover, share your love with a homeless pet and become a Homeless Pet Sponsor. Your gift of affection can actually make a difference in the life of an animal. Not only will you warm your Valentineโs heart with your gesture, youโll also get the satisfaction of helping to care for a homeless pet. You have your choice of sponsoring a dog, cat, or rabbit. With each sponsorship you receive a photo, thank you note, and your name displayed on the animalโs space for the time period you select. Rabbit sponsorships are $20/week or $80/month, cats are $25/week or $100/month. Dogs are $50/week or $200/month. What a beautiful way to express the spirit of this day of love and caring! For more information call 410-833-8848, ext. 212 or visit our Sponsor a Pet webpage.
