Low-Cost Medical Care at Humane Society
Low cost wellness veterinary services are available at Baltimore Humane Society to families struggling to afford their pets' medical care.
It was wonderful to see such a tremendous turnout this past Saturday at Dogfest. We were overwhelmed by the number of people who came out to the event, held on our shelter grounds at 1601 Nicodemus Road in Reisterstown.ย Check out our Facebook Page to see some of the adorable furry friends who joined in the festivities.ย Your support will go to the care of hundreds of homeless animals this year.ย
Unfortunately, we've been seeing more and more pets being left without homes. The economy has taken its toll on area families' abilities to keep their dogs and cats.ย That's why Baltimore Humane Society has begun offering low cost wellness services.ย It's our way of helping families who find it difficult to pay for verterinary services.ย So, if you or any pet owner you know is having financial difficulties, tell them they can get low cost care for their pet at BHS.ย That includes spay-neuter, diagnostic services, vaccinations, microchipping, nail trim, and dental care.ย Call to make an appointment at 410-833-8848, ext. 209.ย
Medical care is naturally a big part of our care for all our shelter animals.ย One currently with us is Loki, a six year old Jack Russel Terrier mix.ย Poor Loki came to us with his collar embedded in his neck, no hair, and terrible skin lesions.ย After giving him the medical care he needed, Loki is now recovering, but will need an adoptive family who can give him patience and quiet.ย

You can help Loki and animals like him get the shelter and medical care they need by texting the word PAW to 80000.ย A $10 donation will be added to your cell phone bill that goes directly to BHS for the care of our homeless pets.ย
The Baltimore Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter, is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1927.ย Nor is it affiliated with any national humane societies or animal welfare organizations.ย Nor does it receive any funding from the government.ย BHS depends on generous donations from individuals, corporations and foundations in order to continue its day-to-day operations and properly care for the animals at the shelter.
