Low Cost Microchip & Rabies Vaccination Clinic Saturday

The economy is impacting everyone, including our precious pups.  Dog theft is up by 32% this year according to the American Kennel Club.  The AKC says that thieves are trying to sell dogs, give them as gifts, and hold them for ransom.  For many owners it’s the economy that’s actually stealing their pets away because they are unable to afford their care.  Here at Baltimore Humane Society we've seen an increase in dog and cat relinquishment this year due to the loss of owners’ jobs and homes. 

To help struggling pet owners, the Baltimore Humane Society with the support of Hunt Valley Towne Center and 101.9 Lite FM is holding a low cost Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Event on Saturday, November 12^th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for dogs at Hunt Valley Towne Center.  We'll be in the parking lot by the Light Rail in front of Best Buy.

The cost for the Rabies Vaccine will be $5 per dog.

The cost for the Microchipping, including registration, will only be $15 per dog. 

Hopefully this will help cut down on the number of pets we see coming into the shelter either because they were lost and owners never found them or because owners couldn't afford their care.  That’s also why we now offer low cost wellness services on site at our Spay-Neuter Center in Reisterstown.

If you can 't make the Clinic, then please feel free to make an appointment at our Wellness Center here at the shelter.  We now offer low cost wellness services to help pet owners having trouble affording their veterinary services.  There's a whole array of care you can get your pet in addition to the traditional spay and neuter.  They inlcude:

• Felv/FIV Testing
• Dental care
• Vaccinations
• Heartworm testing
• Microchipping
• Deworming
• Anal gland expression
• Nail trimming
• Flea/tick prevention
• Ear cleaning
• and more….

All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old to participate in the Hunt Valley Clinic on November 12^th.  Uncontrollable animals will not be vaccinated, and all pets must be on a leash or in a properly sized, escape-proof carrier; muzzles are required for aggressive dogs.  If available, please bring a copy of your animal’s last rabies vaccination certificate.  For more information call 410-833-8848, ext, 209.
