Mamadou Aliou Diallo Impresses Crowd at "State of the Schools"

OMHS Senior Mamadou Aliou Diallo presented an amazing speech at the BCPS "State of the Schools" event last Thursday.

Last Thursday, March 24th, Senior Mamadou Aliou Diallo presented one of three student speeches at Baltimore County's First Annual State of the Schools address.ย  The event wasย located at Martin's Valley Mansion in Hunt Valley, and there were close to 1,000 people in attendance.ย ย 

According to Patti Butler, a teacher at OMHS, Diallo was "the highlight of the (3 hour) event."ย  When the event was over, Diallo was given business cards by several BCPS partners, and they discussed jobs, scholarships, and even a speaking engagement.ย 

During the speech, Diallo, a former ESOL (English for Speaker of Other Languages) student,ย thanked Margarita Ugarte-Caffyn for her commitment to ESOL students and stated that he was speaking on behalf of all ESOL students.
